Campaign One - Fundraising
The team relies upon our members actively fundraising through holding dances, attending gala days etc. We have been fortunate too to attract funding from the Awards for All Scheme and Stirling Council, as well as sponsorship from WAGG Foods and other companies such as BT plc who provided our team's NEC internet ready computer. Many thanks to the following organisations & companies who have assisted us recently by way of sponsorship & fundraising:

a) The volunteer band The Grand Boys who donated £400 for medical equipment,
b) WAGG Foods Ltd who, since 2000, have provided excellent WAGG Time dog food for our search dogs on a monthly basis - a substantial, very important and amazing sponsorship;
c) Marie Sommerville Health Ltd who provided us with Mozzy Off Midge & Mosquito Repellant (and if you've ever been in the Trossachs you'll know how necessary midge repellant is!)
d) BASC Scotland for support re the Country Fair for permitting us to display our search dogs at their annual Cardross Country Fair and for a £50 donation;
e) Central Scotland Fire & Rescue Service - for the support they give to our member firefighters who are training search dogs;
f) The British Heart Foundation - for their donation of £1100 to purchase new resuscitation manikins for our TSART Heartstart Scheme of community ELS training;
g) CVS Stirling and Stirling Council for their frequent loan of display boards for events we attend;
h) Strathclyde Fire Board who made a very generous donation of £7000.
i) Larbert Ladies Forum Club for £75 donation
j) Larbert Round Table for £150 donation
k) East Kilbride Dog Training Club for £100 donation
l) Park Mains High School 6th yr pupils who on separate occasions have raised £150 and a whopping £500 for us - in recognition of some members assisting them with Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme work
m) The Friends of Aberfoyle and Buchlyvie Surgeries for their partnership whereby they book local halls for Heartstart Courses, advertise these and take bookings from the general public and TSART Instructors provide the tuition. The Friends have also been very good in making donations to the team to cover our costs associated with running these courses
n) The staff of MOD Forthside, Stirling who have been wonderful to us over the past two years - Major Caples and his staff, MOD Guard Service, Scottish Ambulance Service personnel and ABRO personnel
o) East Kilbride firefighters who donated £250

Should you wish to make a donation please forward a cheque, made payable to 'Trossachs Search and Rescue Team' to Joanne Reid, MA LLB, Team Secretary 11 Tryst Park, The Inches, Larbert FK5 4FN. Campaign Two - Public Awareness
We want to increase the awareness of our existence - both to highlight the services we voluntarily offer and to help us to raise funds to enable to improve on these services.

We have, over the past few years, attended local gala days, safety events and have even travelled far afield (Huddersfield and Stonehaven) to attend events to promote our team - as well as help raise funds for other charities.

We will always consider all requests to attend events and provide a display - whether static or of our search dogs in action but our operational role comes first. (See other parts of our site for photos). Back to top
Campaign Four - Recruiting
The charity is always in need of more recruits. In 2005 we actively sought members of the professional emergency services as recruits.

The team is keen to recruit from the professional emergency services, healthcare services and people who have experience in SAR work. Back to top
Campaign Four -TSART Heartstart
We operate a scheme to promote ELS skills in the local community - so far we have trained over 600 people how to assess a casualty, perform rescue breathing and chest compressions and deal with severe bleeding, choking and heart attacks. Being in a rural community these skills are vital and our members, as well as people we have taught, have successfully saved the lives of at least three people using these skills. The scheme requires volunteer Instructors as well as cash to enable us to purchase vital equipment. Donations are always accepted for this cause.

Thanks to the British Heart Foundation for donating 10 Little Anne manikins to our scheme at a cost of £1100 recently.

Thanks also to the local charity The Friends of Aberfoyle and Buchlyvie Surgeries for our joint venture to promote ELS skills throughout West Stirlingshire over the past year and for their financial support. Back to top
Campaign Five - Transport
The team is actively seeking a team vehicle such as a minibus. We have had 2 Land Rovers in our past but both have now moved on elsewhere.

Our trailers are mainly towed by the team members using their own vehicles.

Therefore, a replacement vehicle is desperately needed.

UPDATE - August 2005 . Thanks to the Scottish Ambulance Service we now have a Renault master LWB minibus. An ex PTS transport ambulance. We did buy it from them but the price was slightly less than a commercial deal so we're very happy!

UPDATE - May 2006 - the minibus has passed its MOT but it is likely that it will need extensive welding by this time next year :-( Back to top
