24 Jun 2007 - West Highland Way Race 2007

The team has yet again provided first-aid cover for the Milngavie to Bridge of Orchy section of the annual West Highland Way Race.

This year we were fully supported by Inverclyde First Aid Corps from the St Andrews Ambulance Association - and great bunch they are too.

With 102 runners at the starting point and thunderstorms and flooding forecast, we were very concerned as to how things might go - a repeat of 2005's abandonment was on the cards.

However, apart from a few heavy showers, the weather was kind to the event and us.

Surprsingly there was no casualties made known to us.

Yet again, the team rescue boat proved to be a great resource - with Grant as its Coxswain, and crew members Willie Cooper, Collette Hart, Stevie Ballantyne and Graham Gregory there to provide a full first-aid response to any casualties on the WHW between Balmaha and Ardlui.
