28 Apr 2007 - Minibus no more!
It was a sad day - our trusty Renault Master minibus was collected from our base at MOD Forthside by a scrappie and taken away. It had covered some 250,000 miles, mostly as a Scottish Ambulance Service patient transport ambulance but was mechanically good - but the body had rotted away at the main suspension areas and was beyond welding.
Thankfully the team has its new van - donated by Strathclyde Fire and Rescue - it's an exceptional vehicle and will perform a vital role in the transportation of search dogs to the locus of any incident.
So, sad to see the old minibus go but glad to have its replacement on the run.
Now on the lookout for a vehicle to convey the personnel to incidents so they can work the dogs....
