22 Apr 2007 - Major Incident Exercise - Thurso
A major incident search and rescue exercise took place at Caithness Stone's extensive quarry system near Thurso today. The scenario being that 11 members of a fossil club were missing following an earthquake in the quarry. In addition, two aircarft had made forced landings in the area.
Approx 40 people participated in the search - from 3 search teams 3 handlers using 5 dogs conducted searches and located all 13 casualties within a 3 hr period.
A fantastic exercise - very challenging for all involved.
Trossachs sent two handlers and three dogs to the exercise and were delighted to take part.
