24 Mar 2007 - Sheep rescue no. 4
After week stranded on the same wide ledge of Dunglass near Blanefield, the farmer was rightly concerned and realised the sheep wasn't going to head up through a series of ledges to safety.
Having rescued sheep from the same location in the past, the team was only too pleased to attend again.
This time we changed tactics and lowered two members, by ropes onto the ledge whereupon they secured the sheep in an improvised harness and lowered it to the ground.
Once released from her harness, she wandered off to nice fresh grass - wholly unconcerned.
This was a great piece of work by all involved, especially by Segs and Graham who had the hard work catching and securing the sheep and lowering it down. It was Stevie's first call-out and Segs first experience of an animal rescue.
