28 May 2006 - Dog Assessments

Search dog teams make the grade!

Success at search dog assessments this past weekend for Bobby Cranie & Corrie and Dave Ashpool and his two dogs - Tee Dee and Titan - all three dogs are now NUSARDG qualified.

The two day assessments were at Glenny estate, nr Aberfoyle (rural searches) and at a former Navy base nr Stirling (collapsed structures).

All dogs located all bodies which were placed in various hides over the two days and handlers had to out up with various distractions while undergoing their searches to prove their worth.

Asessments are a vital end to a comprehensive training programme which can take around 18 months to complete - theses dogs can't just be acceptable, they need to be exceptional!
