30 Mar 2008 - Dog team pass assessment

  Jeff Smith and Cono have passed stringent assessments to become the team's latest Collapsed Structures dog team.  Jeff and Cono are already qualified as an Open Area Dog Team with the National Urban Search and Rescue Dog Group and have added to that to be able to ttend collapsed strcuture incidents also.  The stringent assessments took place in caithness Stone quarries in Thurso yesterday, as well as at a former US Navy Base at Forss, nr Dounreay.  Assessors included existing NUSARDG dog handlers and a Police dog handler.  Jeff now becomes one of only 4 collapsed structure dogs in Scotland operated by NUSARDG.
