Just popped in to wish you all a happy new year and to update you about our new flood rescue asset a 6 metre Dell Quay Dory Rescue Boat which is powered by a 50hp Yamaha outboard. The boat can take eight adults and equipped with advanced medical equipment including basket stretcher etc. This now brings our 'fleet' numbers upto three boats. Best wishes.

'Stumbled' across your site when checking the 'Wagg' dog food site for my Deerhound. I was surprised to read that TSART travels to far-distant 'Call Outs' and events.

I was an R.A.F. Desert and Mountain Rescue teams volunteer [Nicosia, Kinloss (twice), Leuchars, Khormaksar & Stafford]. 'Civvy' teams were appearing as I left ('horse-de-wombat') in 1970. The first I remember was the Glencoe team, led by a police sergeant I think, but with Hamish MacInnes involved as always. Perhaps Hamish was the first to train and use SAR dogs ("Rangi" and "Tiki"?) and they found the body of a Dundee Uni. professor ("Reid"?) circa 1960. Benny MacChesney and I were most-way up the Aonach Eagach when the 'two-star-red' was fired and we thankfully glissaded down wherever possible!

Now the Trossachs have a Team, who'd have thought it! Of course, the MoDfather's 'cut-backs' (Kai Tak, Masirah, Nicosia and some UK teams) has, fortunately, spurred some stalwart 'Civvies' and ex-Service personnel to take up the slack and follow others' examples. Thank God (not MoD-the-Father) for that!

I'm only fit for ex-Teams members' UK reunions these days. Leuchars' 'Doo' will be in St. Andrews (OCT 07), Kinloss' will be in Newtonmore (NOV 07) and Harpur Hill's + Stafford's in Hope (MAR 08). I'd like to meet with some of you new guys and see some of your 'space age kit' !

Yours aye,

"Boots".

On behalf of Caithness and Sutherland Search Team I would like to thank TSART for their part in today's major incident exercise in Caithness. Stuart, Joanne, Mitch and Gigha once again demonstrated the expertise and professionalism that has earned TSART the respect it deserves. 13 Casualties in an earthquake scenario, crashed planes, bodies in ponds, sheer drops, rubble piles 80 feet high plus. Nothing phased them or the CASST Teams. Visiting prospective MSP's, serving MP and other guests were blown away by the whole day. We hope their support will continue to promote the work of both CASST and TSART. Once again thanks guys and I know we are looking forward to our next joint venture already.

Excellent site. I must say that our team members had their faith restored over the joint weekend with TSART members, 7th to 9th April. We all learned a lot and felt that we are part of a bigger national picture. The socialising after training was excellent and I am pleased to say that Stuart does not need a note to say he is "excused singing". See you soon guys!

Regarding the (new) team bus, FANTASTIC! ok 200,000 miles but great potential, drives like a dream and will help in so many ways. Any kind hearted vehicle sprayers out there with a load of white paint?

A BIG THANK YOU from myself, the sponsor, runners and marshalls for your support in this year's West Highland Way Race. Without your vital contribution we would not have had our most successful year ever. All your team were fantastic and we look forward to many more successful years together. Your one failing was not providing protection from the Midges! Thank you again.

Hi everyone, Thank you for "rescuing" Mirk and Gael from the pontoon at the Greenock Fire and Water Festival today. We were getting really worried as to how on earth we would be able to get them from the boat up to the quayside - I know some dogs can climb ladders but these dogs most certainly don't.

Thanks again - all the very best

Thanks to a great organisation who did a great job in aiding the 2002 running of the West Highland Way Race. These volunteers will be a major part of this year's event, ensuring the safety of around 100 runners for over 24 hours. The runners feel their lives could not be in better hands.
