2006 Incidents

29 May 2006 - Building Collapse

The team responded to a request to search a small country mansion near Linlithgow which had sustained some fire damage but structural collapse through most of it. There were concerns that someone was trapped in the debris. The dogs were very easily able to search the areas affected by the collapse, being a rubble pile.

Three dogs, handlers and safety buddies from NUSARDG teams TSART & ESD attended and made a search of the building, outhouses and shrubbery immediately outside in case of any casualty

June 2006 – West Highland Way Race

The team provided first-aid cover for the WHW race yet again - this time only as far as Kingshouse Hotel, Glencoe as MRTs were providing cover from there onwards.

Trossachs SAR dealt with 3 casualties on Loch Lomondside and evacuated them by rescue boat to Inveruglas, where their support crews met them.

Another runner sustained a minor knee injury at Bridge of Orchy .

Having started at 9pm on Friday evening, the team stood down at 7pm on Saturday and enjoyed a BBQ at Bridge of Orchy Hall before crashing out for the night.

Another great race saw the record being broken by 43 minutes - the record now is 15hrs 44 mins!

30 September 2006 - Missing Person Search, River Tay, Perth

Trossachs SAR assisted with a large scale search for Craig Robertson (17) on the River Tay at Perth .

12 personnel and 5 dogs attended.

Craig's body was found by fisheries boat personnel. Our thoughts go to his family and friends.

1 October 2006

The things we do!

Four hardy souls covered a Pony Club event nr to Callander on Sunday afternoon.

7 casualties later (nothing serious fortunately), we all thoroughly enjoyed the day, the hospitality was great.
